Obedience is one of the launching pads into the era of new dawn. Let me start by saying that if you miss it in obedience you miss it in all. The God of the new dawn will only camp with the obedient. Disobedience cuts you off from God and His presence. Obedience therefore is a core course in the school of new dawn and it is a school where you don’t graduate. You will never get to a point where you can say, “I think I have obeyed God enough. I think I should be awarded a PhD in obedience.” You will always be in class to apply whatever instructions he has given to you to take your life forward.
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God…” (Deuteronomy 28:1-13)
As the voice of the Lord comes prompting you, you must dive into action. Delayed obedience is disobedience. God has no time for people who will not run with his instructions. Abraham exemplified prompt obedience. (Genesis 12:1-4). Even though where he was being directed to was not clearly defined, he obeyed. He demonstrated the same prompt obedience when God asked him to circumcise all the males in his house and when He asked him to sacrifice Isaac. My prayer is that for everything God will speak to you at Shiloh you will hearken with speed. (Genesis 17:21-23, Genesis 22:1-3)
If you’re waiting for complete and explanatory instruction before you obey God you will never obey God. Imagine if Abraham had started asking, “Which of the mountains?” God will not give you all the instructions at once because it may not be beneficial to you. But he will give you enough instructions to kick-start your journey in the school of obedience. Don’t be asking for too many things at the same time. It is step-by-step approach that takes you to your destiny.Delayed obedience is disobedience. God has no time for people who will not run with his instructions. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
Whatever God is telling you on this mountain, dive into action. (John 5:1-4) Whatever He asks you to do, do it without delay. Men and brethren, when you are in obedience you are with God. When you’re in disobedience you are on your own. Remember Jonah. God asked him to go to Nineveh, he went to Tarshish and met with frustration. (Jonah 1:1-3)
To be alone with God in a life of obedience is to enjoy a life without struggles. To despise His word is to be on your own. Jesus says, abide in me. I am your manufacturer. I have all the details. (John 15:4-5) You need me for all things. If you don’t abide in me you begin to wither, you lose beauty and colour. You are nothing without God. You need Him all the time. You don’t just need him every hour but every moment, every split second. And what connects you with Him is obedience. (Romans 8:31-32)
Obedience brings connection with God while disobedience brings separation. And it is in this unguarded time of separation that the devil catches up with you for oppression. As long as God is there with you, the devil cannot be there but when God is not there with you the devil takes over and all his demons are permitted to operate. That’s why Paul the apostle said, who can separate us from the love of God? (Romans 8:35-39). He knew the devastation of separation. I plead with you, remain connected with this God. In him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28)
One of the things that obedience does is that it fast forwards your destiny. (Jeremiah 7:23-24). Obeying God is for your benefit not for God’s benefit. The core requirement for going forward and fulfilling destiny is obedience. Total obedience, not partial obedience. Partial obedience is disobedience. God told Saul to destroy Amalek but he spared the king and kept back some of the spoil under the pretext of using them for sacrifice. (1Samuel 15:20-24) You can’t move God by any iota of disobedience no matter the reason. Disobedience separates you from God. And separation from God is connection to hell.
The devil has no power over you as a child of God. What he has is deception, tricks. But your disobedience can empower him to afflict you. Obedience is what makes the devil to be far away from you as east is far from the west. Don’t take holiday into disobedience; you may not return. It may look small to you but it’s important to God.You can't move God by any iota of disobedience no matter the reason. Disobedience separates you from God. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
For example, if God says, “Don’t go on this journey” but you insist on going, pleading the blood of Jesus and the ministry of angels, you are acting in disobedience and may suffer for it. Angels only hearken to you when you’re acting in obedience to God’s word. All those blessings in Deuteronomy 28:3-14 are there for the obedient. The connecting rod is in verses 1 and 2 — if you will hearken. Every day is a new dawn for the one that follows God. (Lamentations 3:23, Psalm 68:19, Psalm 23:6) Disobedience brings you under a curse. (Jeremiah 11:3)
What is the relevance of obedience to the blessings of the new dawn?
All that will set you free to connect with the new dawn era are in three packages:
1. Instructions to obey. Every answer to prayer still leaves you with responsibility. Answer will come by instruction and it has to be obeyed.
2. Revelation for application. Revelation is what God shows you, what comes from heaven. But don’t just rejoice at revelation. Only revelation plus application brings revolution. Whatever He asks you to do, go and do it.
3. Visions to run with. Men and brethren, God will unveil His purpose to you. God will give you divine assignments. But visions are not just for documentation. You are to run with them.
These three packages will put the demand of obedience on you and without responding to the demands of these opportunities there will be nothing like new dawn.Obedience brings connection with God while disobedience brings separation. And it is in this unguarded time of separation that the devil brings oppression. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
If you check Abraham very well, you will find that all his blessings are traced to obedience. He had lots of demands placed on him and he did not fail. So God blessed him (Genesis 22:18). You become a transgenerational leader by obedience. (Psalm 112:2). If you will not obey God for your own self please obey God for posterity. Abraham obeyed God in Genesis 12 and in Genesis 13, God opened a new chapter for him. As you walk in obedience God will open a new chapter for you. The same you that came to Shiloh with poverty, before the next Shiloh you are becoming very rich by the word of the Lord. (Proverbs 8:32-36). The cost of obedience is still cheaper than the devastating effects of disobedience. May you graduate from Shiloh 2017 loving God all the days of your life.
Where you have been disobedient before, begin to be obedient. If you don’t want to see calamity stop that journey of disobedience. (Proverbs 1:23-33) Disobedience can put you at a level where God the Almighty, the compassionate Father, will laugh at your calamity. (Proverbs 1:25-26) And if God laughs at your calamity then who will deliver you out of it? God forbid.
Don’t take God for granted. Don’t say, “Everybody is a sinner. There is nobody that is perfect.” People have since left the things you are doing; don’t choose to stay stuck there. You cannot continue in your old way of life and expect a new dawn. If you came to Shiloh as a thief, Yahoo boy or if you’re involved with other sorts of atrocities, this ground must be its burial ground. Otherwise your new dawn will be dawn of imprisonment. No one puts new wine into old wineskins, else the new wine bursts the wineskins, and the wine spills, and the wineskins will be ruined. The new wine must be put into new wineskins. (Mark 2:22)Disobedience can put you at a level where God the Almighty, the compassionate Father, will laugh at your calamity. (Proverbs 1:25-26) -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
New wine signifies fresh empowerment for the new dawn. Luke 5:38 says it categorically: New wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved together. The old you that came to Shiloh must not be the you that will return. God wants to preserve your life. So He cannot tolerate sin and put His hand upon you. If He does that you will die. Make a new decision and a commitment to walk with God in obedience. The last disobedience you were involved in should be the very last.
Finally, this is the guiding principle: whatever He asks you to do, do it. This is because what He asks you to do may be different from what He asks me to do. Instructions are personal. That was the guiding principle for the first miracle. The mother of Jesus said, whatever he asks you to do, do it. (John 2:5-11) It is instruction that brought the second miracle too. (John 4:46-54). The principle has not changed. Do you want a miracle? Whatever He asks you to do, do it. And what is a miracle? It’s turning the old to new by the power of God. That is a miracle! If you want your old story to turn to a new glory, whatever He asks you to do, do it.
Satan delights in your disobedience because he wants to devastate you. There is a spirit of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2). Your disobedience puts the devil in control of your life while your obedience puts God in charge of your life. What then should you do? Don’t make it cheap for the devil to devastate your life. Examine yourself. (James 4:7-8).This mountain of Shiloh must be mountain of examination. And if you discover you have missed it somewhere somehow, repent. Those little acts of disobedience that you don’t count to be anything, they count in heaven. Make adjustments. It is the adjustment you make today that will bring you advancement tomorrow. Take stock of your life. Examine yourself. Locate the missing links. Purpose in your heart to make adjustments.Disobedience puts the devil in control of your life while your obedience puts God in charge. Don't make it cheap for the devil to devastate your life. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
You know what I see concerning you? I see a new release of supernatural advancement as you keep on obeying God and his holy word from Shiloh 2017 going forward. Go and be disobedient no more. May the spirit of obedience follow you even after Shiloh.
