How to secure your future with your words

This blog post is based on an edited transcript of the July 28, 2020 (morning) edition of 60 Days of Planting by Pastor Poju Oyemade.

When you speak words that are consistent with God’s word, those words eventually get into your heart. And once the word gets into your heart in abundant measure, it begins to seep out in your behaviour. This is what it means for word to become flesh. It becomes evident in your character and your conversations, ultimately manifesting in your reality.

At that point, your heart and your mouth are in perfect alignment. And when you approach a goal with this level of alignment, you will accomplish it. The Bible says, “With the heart a man believes and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)

Or as Jesus Christ said, “If you believe in your heart and you say to this mountain…” (Mark 11:23-24) i.e. your heart is in perfect agreement with what your mouth is saying. When you enter into the place of prayer concerning it, you will have that thing you have received.

It starts with mental assent. This is the point where you agree that the word is true but it has not actually become life to you. As you begin to declare it, what you’ve accepted to be true enters into your heart and becomes part of your consciousness. At that point, you have received it.

So you will never say anything that will contradict that truth even when you are joking and laughing. If any information presented to you contradicts that truth in the slightest of ways, an alarm will go off in your heart because that word has become part and parcel of your life.

At that point, when you enter into the place of prayer, you are definitely going to have what you’re declaring out of your lips in prayer. While you’re praying over the process, the word is able to sink into your heart properly because you’re praying. And when you’re obedient—the scripture says when your obedience is complete—then there’s a readiness within to avenge all disobedience on the outside. So make your prayers consistent with what you’re declaring out of your lips. As you do this, the word of God enters into your being and without a shadow of doubt, it comes out of your life in the name of Jesus.

I got two very powerful testimonies and the pattern of these testimonies remains exactly the same. People are speaking forth in very specific ways into their lives. The way this works is when words are directed to produce very specific outcomes. It’s not generic in nature. Jesus Christ said, “If you say to this mountain.” That’s specific. And when he was going to raise Lazarus, he said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” However, for you to have effective utterance in order to change the shape of things in the physical, you have to be specific about it. So He didn’t just say “I am the resurrection and the life”. He also said, “Lazarus, come forth!”

Someone shared with me that when his boss was teaching him about productivity, the boss told him: “Set a target and goal for yourself which you know that there is no way you can achieve it with your own efforts. Naturally speaking this goal cannot be realised but it is something coming from your heart.”

This way, you can know that this principle actually works. But you must have a specific goal and target that you have set for yourself. You don’t rush because he that believes shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16) But you set a target for yourself, that within that period of time, cannot be attained by any form of natural effort. The achievement of this goal has to be by divine intervention in what you’re doing.

Change your attitude in the place of your work from “I’m believing for promotion” to “I’m believing for multiplied productivity such that I become the nerve centre of this organisation.”  That’s the way you should think about productive labour and promotion. When you maintain that posture, promotion and all those other benefits will come to you. Be specific about it and sit down with the promises God made to you.

Let it register inside your spirit that these promises have formed the foundation for what you’re believing for. Then you begin to make your confessions. Like we said earlier, the way confession works is that you start saying it, it gets into your heart first, then your heart and your mouth must come into agreement for it to come to pass. The reason it is beyond you now is that your heart is not in agreement because your heart doesn’t understand how what you’re saying will happen within your life.

But once you start saying it, declaring the word of God, the word is a two-edged sword, it pierces into your heart. After some time that word enters into your heart and you come to a point where you believe inside your heart that what you’re saying will eventually come to pass in your life. Once you come to that place, all things have become possible.

From that particular point you start having glorious manifestations. When your obedience is complete, then there’s a readiness to avenge all disobedience on the outside. So the practice of faith and confessions is not magic, it’s a definite process of God.

Confessions

Father, in the name of Jesus, I declare out of my lips that I have received from Jesus the measure of faith on the inside of me. I have your faith dwelling inside me. This is the supernatural element in every single thing that I am doing in my vocational calling, the field you have sent me in to labour.

This measure of faith inside me that I mix with the word of God on my lips, causes the Spirit of God Himself to permeate my vocational calling, producing supernatural experiences and unusual outcome in every single thing I set my hands upon.

By this, I provide the evidence that through Jesus’ Christ’s death, the blessing of Abraham was conferred upon the gentiles that we may receive the promise of the Spirit. I therefore sanctify my vocational calling, that which I am doing in the market place, through the word of God on my lips that I direct into it this day.

It is the place where I serve the Lord Jesus Christ. According to that which is written, it is the place, where I experience powerful visitations from God. It is the ground upon which God has met with me and bestowed upon me the eternal inheritance apportioned to me in Jesus.

I declare that the work of my hand is a spiritual altar unto You, the place where You meet with me and demonstrate Your glory in my life according to that which is written. And I declare this day, I am employed directly by Jesus in that which I am doing with my hands. The work that I do upon this earth, I do it in the service of Jesus Christ and my reward comes out of heaven, which is the eternal inheritance You bestow upon me. This is the attitude I have concerning the work of my hands. So this day, I lift up my labour with a heart of gratitude unto you, regardless of that which men give unto me.

I declare that this is a holy ground unto You. Much food lies inside this ground. Your hidden riches are contained in that which I am doing. And I bring it up to You this morning with thanksgiving and praise unto You. As Jesus lifted up the five loaves with thanksgiving so that the potential inside it could be released, I also bring that which I am doing unto You Jesus, and give you praise for it.

I am the seed of Abraham upon this earth and the promises that God made unto Abraham are made directly to me. These promises shape the outcome of what happens in the work of my own hand. Every single detail of what happens upon this field is the fulfillment of a prophecy of God contained in the promises He made unto me. For this place where I labour is an altar unto God from which spiritual sacrifices are offered unto Him, causing the blessing of heaven to rest upon it.

This ground, regardless of its appearance, is pronounced blessed by the Spirit of God. In this ground of my work, are the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, hidden from ages and generations past. The Spirit of God has opened my eyes to these things and I deploy these thoughts in what I am doing such that the hidden riches of God and the wealth embedded inside this earth are revealed through the labour of my hands as I bring forth great increase and multiplication.

I am the seed of Abraham on this earth. Every single thing I lay my hands upon prospers upon this earth. I am as Isaac, who with the power of the Spirit, planted in a time of famine, when there was no external support system to establish the outcome of his labour, and the land still produced a hundred fold. Isaac achieved and exceeded all of his goals by the wisdom the Spirit of God gave unto him. Through the knowledge of this secret, he discovered water on this earth where no human being had ever seen.

I belong to this lineage of Abraham and as I go into my workplace, my results are not determined by the external support system but by the blessing of God that rests on the inside of me. I have direct access to the riches of Christ, for by the blood of Jesus Christ, the veil has been rent into two. The eyes of my understanding have been opened up. And I have direct access to all the hidden treasures of wisdom.

The Spirit of God has unveiled unto me, every single secret on this earth for productivity and multiplication. He makes them clear as the noon day. I therefore easily exceed every single goal and target I set. For as the seed of Abraham, as far as my eyes can see, is the standard of the performance of God in my life. I have therefore exceeded every single goal that I set for myself this year in the field of my labour by reason of the operation of the Spirit within me.

He has shown me the exact principles and supplied me with the thoughts and ideas, through which I have exceeded within record time, all these goals that I have set for myself. Life has now become very easy, because through the wisdom of the Spirit of God within me, I am a highly productive individual on this earth. For the place of my assignment, this vocational calling I engage in every day, is my place of service unto the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am not working for any man. I am not working for any client. I am serving Jesus as I produce products and render services in the spirit of excellence to meet up with the standard of heaven. This is the mandate I have received from Jesus. This is the quality of work that I produce. By reason of this quality of work and excellence, gentiles are streaming to this light, kings are coming to the brightness of my rising.

Those who are supposedly in the place of authority in this industry in which I am in, say through the work of my own hands, they are coming in contact with ideas and thoughts they have never seen or read anywhere. This is my testimony unto the living Christ — the production of ideas and thoughts, the birth of new models of labour that I am executing in the field of my endeavour through which productivity is being multiplied.

God is the rewarder of my labour and at every set season, He shows up in my life where I am working and He opens up the door to fresh opportunities. For He has rewarded the labour of my hands with His eternal inheritance from heaven. This is why through the work of my hands I have left an inheritance for my children and their children, for Jesus stepped into the field of my labour periodically to serve me, to honour what I am doing in the spirit of excellence by opening up massive opportunities for me on this earth.

Through these mighty visitations of Jesus Christ that I have in this place of my assignment, wealth and riches have entered into my lineage and we eat our bread without scarcity. My children and grandchildren call me blessed by reason of what I have transferred unto them. And it has come out of this very thing I am doing today with my hands.
Some on the outside consider it to be ordinary but by the words of Christ that I speak unto it, the nature of the labour that I render has been changed and completely sanctified. As a tender plant growing out of a dry ground, the wealth and riches of heaven have proceeded out of this place in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Conclusion

When people go to meet witch doctors, they have incantations. This means they have the words to say to a situation to change the nature of that situation. That’s what they call incantation.

As a Christian, you are to speak as the oracle of God. People go to the oracle to give them words to speak to a situation. With this, you can understand what Jesus meant when he said, “This is the commandment I have received, what I should say and what I should speak. And this commandment is eternal life.” (John 12:50)

In answer to prayer, God grants you words. And when you plant these words into that which is called ordinary, the nature of that thing changes. For example, if a marriage is in crisis, and one of them understands this principle, as the person consistently speaks God’s word into the marriage, that situation will change. It doesn’t just happen by fasting and prayer. You fast and pray to receive the words. Then when you receive those words, you speak them consistently into the situation.
