The Bible admonishes us to prove all things and hold fast that which is true. (1Thessalonians 5:21). How do we prove a genuine encounter with the word?
1. Every word encounter stirs supernatural faith.
What made Abraham strong in faith in spite of his age was a genuine encounter with the word. (Genesis 12:1-5, Romans 4:20) You can’t stop a man that has encountered the word in one area of his life. Supernatural faith is stirred with any word encounter. When your faith is shaky in any area you are yet to have an encounter with the word. When God appears to you in His word and delivers it to you as a person you can’t doubt it anymore.
2. Supernatural boldness
Acts 4:20 says “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” I would tell people in those days in Kaduna, “Don’t think I’m going out of my mind. I am speaking to crowds you cannot see.” No gates of hell can prevail against the church, not even government policy. (Matthew 16:18) Freedom of worship is a right. It is not something you apply for.
Boldness is the platform for signs and wonders. (Acts 14:3). Supernatural boldness is a vital proof of word encounter. Set up yourself for a word encounter. Your boldness stems out of your encounter with the word. It’s all about you coming awake. Please don’t toy with word encounters. Don’t just sit and listen to the word, reach out for a personal encounter. When God speaks to you directly from His word you have an encounter. (Isaiah 34:16, Hebrews 1:3)
3. Supernatural joy
“Thy words were found and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart.” Jeremiah 15:16. People with free access to word encounters are ever rejoicing. One proof of word encounter is living above depression, living above sorrow of heart. (Psalm 119:162). Every word found stirs joy. And you know what that does? “A merry heart doeth good like medicine.” Proverbs 17:22. With joy and rejoicing you live a super healthy life. (Proverbs 18:14, Proverbs 17:22). It spurs joy which impacts with health, healing and wholeness. You can’t break the joy of someone who has encounters with God. It’s permanent. It’s growing. It’s genuine. It’s not mechanical. You can't break the joy of someone who has encounters with God. It's permanent and growing. It's genuine, not mechanical. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
4. Supernatural strength
The word came to Gideon, “Have I not sent thee? Go in this thy might.” Judges 6:14. Every word encounter comes with divine strength and might. He blew the trumpet without microphone and the whole of Judah gathered. I pray that from today, because you are entitled to daily new dawn, every day shall be a day of word encounter for you. And every such encounter will bring you new order of strength, joy, boldness and supernatural faith. That’s why your path will keep shining brighter and brighter. The word is the custodian of our new dawn heritage.
5. Peace that passes all understanding.
Grace and peace multiply by knowledge. The more word encounters you have the more peace you have. (Philippians 4:6-7. 2Peter 1:2, John 14:27). You are at rest in every area of your life where you have had adequate word encounters. I did my first teaching on victory over death in 1983. I saw the weakness of death and my dominion over it. Death itself knows that I don’t fear it. We are not in the same class. Jesus took the power of death and I saw Him when He took it. I have never been perturbed in any situation. You are at rest in every area of your life where you have had adequate word encounters. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
In the beginning was the word… (John 1:1). That word is Jesus and His name is Prince of Peace. The more encounters you have with the Prince of Peace the more of His peace you enjoy. If you check the confidence of Moses, it was from raw encounters with the word of God, supernatural faith coming forth from word encounters. One thing is needful and puts you in command of all things — a desperation for word encounters. (Luke 10:42) I pray for a grace to take responsibility for a tireless crave for encounters with the word.
6. Supernatural wisdom
The word of God is described as the wisdom of God. (Luke 11:49) Every man’s wisdom is conveyed by his word. So also is it with God. Encounter with the word engenders supernatural wisdom. (Psalm 119:97-100, 2Timothy 3:15). He that walks with the wise will be wise. (Proverbs 13:20) When you have encounters in the word you are walking with the only wise God who is the wisest. So His wisdom keeps rubbing off on you.
Many children of God will be operating in supernatural wisdom before Jesus comes. They will be in perfect sweatless control of the affairs of life. (Psalm 19:7, Matthew 13:54. Psalm 104:24) God’s wisdom is not just a wisdom of words it’s a wisdom of works, mighty works. The works that unbelievers and your antagonists will see and say, “This is God!” The Queen of Sheba said, “Half was not told me.” It’s the things I see not the things I hear. Now the world should get ready for new waves of mighty works that will be coming from you.
7. Supernatural health
We are getting back to the early days of the church when we’ll not need to pray for sick people in church. When someone is sick we’ll simply say, “Call for the elders in your area, they will pray for you and you will get out of it.” (James 5:14). Sickness was alien to the early church but today we brag about it with words like, “My doctor in Australia and my doctor in Canada treat fingers. My doctor in Japan treats the knees. So when I have issues with my knees and fingers which I do have, I go to them.” People pride themselves in ignorance. This thing is available for free. Why spending your money on that which is not adding value to you? You return with baggages of side effects. You say you’re not hearing, they give you medicine. Your eye is trying to open and your ear is deaf. Is anything wrong with it? No but a genuine word encounter in the area of health will give it to you for free, forever free.
An old man of over 60, maybe going to 70 read the book, Keys to Divine Health and on page 20 caught a word that the devil is not a gentleman. He was on admission for high blood pressure and hypertension. He jumped out of the bed and say, “Discharge me now!” His daughter was a doctor in that hospital. He discharged himself. That was 1989. I saw him 1996 still free from high blood pressure and hypertension. One word encounter settled him. Somebody’s health issue is finally settled here! Focus on the word. Don’t let what anybody says engage you or occupy your heart over God’s word. (Proverbs 4:20-22)
Earnestly desire an encounter in God’s word. Pray and devote two to three days, with the Bible and anointed books on the subject at hand and a desperation for an encounter. You will walk free forever. I’m giving the glory to Jesus, I’m not on any medication not even vitamins. In 1979 I secured my insurance — my health insurance with Jesus — from Matthew 8:17. My health insurance was secured and I’m enjoying that policy until now.
You are ordained to live a sickness-free and pain-free life but it takes an encounter with the word to free yourself. You are long overdue for liberty. I pray that every session of Shiloh will bring you a supernatural encounter. And this encounter will culminate in supernatural faith, supernatural boldness. My confidence is in the fact that I’m called as an apostle. An apostle is a territorial commander. Peter was called as an apostle to the Circumcision. So Paul was in command of the Gentiles. There are heaven’s principalities that seize powers from the kingdom of hell. Every encounter spurs these virtues that money cannot buy — supernatural faith, supernatural boldness, supernatural joy, supernatural strength, supernatural wisdom, supernatural health, supernatural peace. It is not the preaching of the word that makes a man, it is encounters with the word. The Lord sent a word to Jacob and the word illuminated the whole nation. (Isaiah 9:8)
What supernatural faith does is to keep the devil at bay. (Ephesians 6:16) From today, an end has come to every harassment of the devil in your life! The word you see is what is called an encounter. And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh and revealed himself to Samuel by the word. (1Samuel 3:21) The word which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw… (Isaiah 2:1)
The proofs of having seen the word are the ones I’ve listed. The word you see has committed God to give. God has promised to give you as far as your eyes can see. (Genesis 13:15). I therefore decree that the eyes of your understanding be opened.
Pray. I must not miss my encounter with you Jesus. Anoint my eyes with eye salve so I can see. (Revelation 3:18) Open my eyes that I may see the wonders in your word. (Psalm 119:18) and let every encounter come along with proofs in my life. Pray that every moment on this ground and at all our viewing centres will be encounters with God’s word. Lord, I desire encounters with you all through this season. I must not miss my encounters with you in the name of Jesus.
Every testimony of triumph in a believer’s life is a testimony of an encounter with the word. Every testimony is a confirmation of the word. The Lord was working with them confirming His word. (Mark 16:20) That’s why the life of any man will be full of testimonies as long as he is full of encounters with the word of God. Your life will never run dry of encounters again.Every testimony of triumph is a testimony of an encounter with the word. Every testimony is a confirmation of the word. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet
Jesus said not every man can receive this saying. (Matthew 9:11) When God says “The number of your days I will fulfill” that means there is a number. “An hundred and twenty days shall be your days.” That’s what he says in Genesis 6:3. But not all men can receive that saying. David came out and said, “I saw it but as for me I choose threescore and ten.” (Psalm 90:10) And at 70 he died. Each one took whatever he’s satisfied with. David fought and fought and he said, “I think 70 is enough. I can’t be fighting all my life.” He was fighting all his life. The most aged saints of all time in their large numbers shall be found in this generation. It is to everyone according to his faith.
It is impossible for your life to remain at the same spot in this Shiloh. In the course of this Shiloh you are changing levels!
Jesus Christ offers rest and abundant life to all who trust in Him. If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, or if you want to rededicate your life to Him, please pray this prayer with the whole of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Saviour. I want to serve you always.”
