Unlocking your new dawn heritage by covenant revelation

This Parchment post is from a message by Bishop David Oyedepo at Shiloh 2017. Shiloh is an annual prophetic convocation of the Living Faith Church worldwide. You can find other Shiloh messages here.

All believers that genuinely encounter their word experience change in their world. The transformational word that will bring about a barrage of testimonies is coming your way in the name of Jesus. One word from God is worth more than a lifetime of struggles. Pay attention to His word (Proverbs 4:20). Avoid distraction. Distraction is not necessarily about doing a bad thing. It could also come from doing a good thing at the wrong time, the same way Martha was playing hostess while Mary focused on Jesus with rapt attention. (Luke 10:40-42)

Any division of your attention is a deprivation of your portion. Keep your focus on the reason you’re here which is for the word of God. Be prepared to receive your word. (Psalm 34:5, Psalm 105:19-22) Fight distraction and pay attention. Let nothing and no one distract you and nothing will detract from your testimony in Jesus’ name. Just like Joseph your change is being delivered tonight.

Spiritual realities are things you enter into the moment you see them. The time you strike matters to the outcome. It is not striking alone that gets the job done. It is striking to time. Time is of essence.

The revelation of the word is the key to every door you want opened. You need the key of knowledge. (Luke 11:52, Matthew 16:19).

Some people thought your life has come to an end but God is saying you have just entered your era of new dawn.

We are the justified people of God and justification entitles us to a new dawn that shines more and more unto the perfect day which is when Jesus comes. (Proverbs 4:18, Romans 3:24, 1Corinthians 13:10) Your life is not programmed to be stagnant. Your heritage is to keep having new dawns. At Shiloh 2017 impossible doors will be opened to you. Unimaginable doors will be opened to you. It’s a new dawn from glory to glory all the days of your life. That means you never see shame again. Your generation after you will never see shame again because when you get baptised into this cloud you begin to shine more and more, not more or less. (Romans 8:29-30, 2Corinthians 3:18)

Our adventure in the faith is a covenant bound adventure. Until you have a revelation of covenant walk with God you may be subject to frustration. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet

We need a covenant revelation of God to know what it takes to flow in this provision. A covenant defines the conditions to meet for actualising the provisions. There is nothing theological about covenant. It is simply knowing what the provisions are and the conditions to meet to access these provisions. The Bible is clear that the provision hangs on the word. It is our encounter with the word that entitles us access to the realm of going from glory to glory. By the grace of God, that’s my area – not waiting for things to happen but knowing what to do to make them happen. Not waiting and wasting.

Our adventure in the faith is a covenant bound adventure. Until you have a revelation of covenant walk with God you may be subject to frustration. You need to know what to do to deliver what has been provided. God days in Jeremiah 33:20-21, “Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.”

Now that covers all of us because we have been redeemed as kings and priests.

It is not the word we see that changes our story but the word we engage with. You don’t just confess the word but you profess the word by doing the work that the word prescribes. (James 1:22-25) That is why many believers are grounded. You can pray and pray, God says “I will not break my covenant.” So prayer alone will not deliver the expected results. Just do the work. As you become spiritually awake to take practical responsibility in line with scriptures your new dawn experience becomes a reality.

Our adventure in the faith is a covenant bound adventure and you’re dealing with God who is no respecter of persons. Anybody anywhere that cares to align with the terms and demands of the covenant will command the same order of results. (Romans 10:12) Shiloh 2017 shall be your launching pad into a new dawn world in the name of Jesus. I can only tell you what to do by the spirit of God, I can’t do it for you. I wish I could. I can only tell you fill the water pot, I can’t fill it for you. I can only tell you to go to Siloam and wash, I can’t do it for you. It is the do-it-yourself system that God handed over to me. That is the Jesus system.

Anybody anywhere that cares to align with the terms & demands of the covenant will command the same order of results. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet

Once you do your part God is committed to doing his part. If things are not working as they should, ask yourself questions. What should you be doing that you are not doing at all? What should you be doing that you’re not doing well enough? What are you doing that you should not be doing? Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12) The man in Acts 3:2 was at the Beautiful Gate but he was living a pitiable life. Whatever has kept you at the Beautiful Gate living a pitiable life is over today! The Beautiful Gate symbolises the gate of heaven. You must refuse to live a pitiable life at the beautiful gate of heaven because that’s not your portion.

We have always known the importance of the entrance of the word but we have not been taught about our entrance into the word. The church is yet to know about the entrance of God’s people into the word. When the word enters into you and you enter into the word a new dawn is born. It is this ‘doer’ revelation that births a new dawn. In 2Chronicles 15:5-12 the prophet brought God’s word to Asa who after hearing the word, acted on it and moved the people to do the same. The word entered into them and they entered into the word. And God gave them rest roundabout. The word you don’t enter into won’t change your story. When the word enters into you and you enter into the word a new day dawns in your life. You must enter into a covenant to meet the divine conditions for the word to deliver.

Through The Man God Uses by Oswald J. Smith I entered into a covenant via a revelation of Matthew 6:33. All revelations received on this mountain require that you enter into them. Most people are only in fellowship when they are in the congregation. They don’t have any personal time for fellowship. You need to spend time alone in the word. In the course of personal fellowship with God I found in Deuteronomy 15:6 that I shall lend to many nations and shall not borrow. So I made up my mind that I would never borrow even if it means wearing the same cloth for many years. That’s because the borrower is a servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:27) and Jesus says you cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). I was just going into full-time ministry when I laid entered into this covenant and it has never failed to deliver. When God blesses you there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Anybody throwing arrows will be destroyed. (Psalm 112:10, Proverbs 10:22)

Abide in the word. Enter into the word or you can’t deliver anything. It’s not enough for the word to enter into you, you must enter into it. (John 15:4-5, Hebrews 3:8, John 5:4) Today when you hear his voice harden not your heart because it is ordained to deliver today. You miss it today you come back again. Nobody determines who is first. If the pool is large enough and we all jump into it at the same time we are all made whole. Procrastination is a device of the devil to rob you of your portion. Wake up! When the word enters into you and you enter into the word that is a vital mystery to your new dawn heritage. As the new dawn pool is being stirred, dive into it. Nobody can dive sleeping. You dive awake and alert. Otherwise you may say ‘Amen’ to a wrong word that is meant for the devil and his agents. And what you say in the presence of God matters. You don’t tell an angel it was an error. (Ecclesiastes 5:6)

Procrastination is a device of the devil to rob you of your portion. Wake up! When the word enters into you and you enter into the word that is a vital mystery to your new dawn heritage. As the new dawn pool is being stirred, dive into it.

Many times we see light through the light of others. (Psalm 36:9) In 1979 I got the light of healing from Kenneth Hagin’s 7 Steps to Healing. My entrance into Ephesians 2:6 came from Wigglesworth. His testimonies interpreted that scripture in a manner I couldn’t imagine. When I saw in Matthew 8:17 that Jesus took took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses, I saw light through his light. So I knew I could never be sick again. If you claim to see a sickness, The Truth already took what you claim to see. You are simply not seeing well. You can’t see what the Truth already took.

Spiritual realities are things you enter into the moment you see them. The time you strike matters to the outcome. It is not striking alone that gets the job done. It is striking to time. Time is of essence. Every time the pool of revelation is stirred in your private study or anywhere, enter into it there and then or you miss it. The stirring of the pool is a picture of the stirring of revelation by the Holy Spirit. Every time the word is stirred step into it.

I was reading T.L Osborn’s book in 1976, The Purpose of Pentecost and I read it in one sitting. I was eager to share what I had learnt with some friends. So I set out to visit them and found that they were no longer where they used to live. I determined not to ask anybody but rather seek direction from the Holy Spirit. So I said, “Holy Ghost if truly you’re a person – that’s what I had just learnt in the book – I am not going to ask anyone for where these people stay. Lead me there.” And I heard his voice, leading my like a GPS until I got to a house where I found some clothes spread on the line and I could recognise the clothes as belonging to these brothers. Before I could ask anyone, one of them came out and shouted, ‘Brother David! How did you get here?” The Holy Spirit led me. (John 16:12-14)

You don’t enter into it at will, time is of essence. You dive into it. Striking is not enough, striking to time is required. You strike when your iron is hottest. Every time a hot revelation descends dive into it and you can make any shape out of it. Jesus had just returned from the wilderness where he had fasted forty days and forty nights. He went to the synagogue, read out scriptures from Prophet Isaiah and said to the people, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. (Luke 4:21). Follow me as I follow Christ. (1Corinthians 11:1)

The Bible is a covenant book and it is ratified by the blood of the everlasting covenant, the blood of Jesus. (Hebrews 13:20). Every statement of scripture is God’s covenant with man. When unveiled and entered into by faith a delivery is guaranteed. Any word that applies to you that you enter into today becomes a testimony for you tomorrow. The Bible is a covenant book written by the covenant keeping God and ratified by the blood of Jesus. Pray that Jesus will help you to always see the conditions attached to the delivery of the provisions so you can take delivery of your inheritance.

For example, on the covenant of healing it is not enough to have the word. The Bible says that death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21) That means until your tongue is redeemed your health is not in view. Those who talk sickness don’t see health.

The Bible is a covenant book and it is ratified by the blood of the everlasting covenant, the blood of Jesus. Every statement of scripture is God’s covenant with man. When unveiled and entered into by faith a delivery is guaranteed.

No matter how hard you pray you have what you say not what you pray (Mark 11:23). You have prayed and fasted but you have been speaking wrongly, it has cancelled your prayers. If you’re believing God for healing keep speaking it. The more you say it the more you facilitate the healing virtue. You can’t be speaking poverty and expect wealth. Your words are seeds. (Galatians 6:7) There are many good givers who are poor talkers. You say you have been giving but nothing has come from it. You have cancelled the results with your words. Ecclesiastes 5:6 says, “Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?”

Every covenant is not just a term. It is a package of terms. You need to be covenant sensitive. Every idle word that any man speaks he shall give account of it. (Matthew 12:36) God says, “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” (Psalm 81:10) You must learn to say what God says about you and you will have it.

Every covenant is not just a term. It is a package of terms. You need to be covenant sensitive. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet

I am not bragging, I am just confident in the covenant keeping God. I will say what I have found and say it unapologetically. One of the blessings of Shiloh is prophetic intervention. Eli just stepped in and gave a word that turned Hannah’s mourning into dancing. By the time you align with prophetic words you receive prophetic interventions.

Requirements for receiving prophetic intervention

1. Receive the person of the prophet. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. (Matthew 10:41) Until you welcome a guest you can’t receive what they brought.

2. Believe in his ministry. Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (2Chronicles 20:20). Jesus could not do much in Nazareth because they did not believe in his ministry (Mark 6:6).

3. Honour the person of the prophet in your heart. (Mark 6:4). The prophet you despise cannot be a blessing to you. (Isaiah 29:13)

Fulfilling these three requirements gives you free access to anything a prophet of God carries from heaven.

God sent me to turn your mourning to dancing. All your secret tears are over finally. And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. (Hosea 12:13) I decree your final escape tonight in the name of Jesus Christ. More often than not until the God of vengeance shows up the wicked never gives up. Tonight is declared a night of vengeance in the camp of your enemies. The God of vengeance shows up in your favour. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. (Isaiah 63:4) Your long awaited year has finally come! Your new dawn heritage is finally released. Nothing shall be stagnant in your life anymore.

Every child of God has free access to everything that God can afford. Shiloh is a mount of personal responsibility. It was not general prayer that changed Hannah’s story. It was her specific request. Take personal responsibility and be specific in your requests.

Invitation

Life takes on a whole new meaning when you become a member of God’s family through faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, or if you want to rededicate your life to Him, please pray this prayer with the whole of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Saviour. I want to serve you always.”
