The first quarter of 2016 is gone.
To put things in perspective, that’s a total of 91 days or 2, 184 hours of your life that you’ll never have back!
Do you think you have invested the first 91 days of the year very well? Or looking back it looks like a total waste of time?
Have you spent the last 91 days helping other people to achieve their goals and aspirations while you ignore yours? Are you useful? Being used? Or taken for granted?
Are you still full of excuses like the years before?
“Let me wait till January is over, people don’t spend money in January”, “I’m not earning enough”, “I’ll have more time when I get the next promotion”, “I’m not a graduate”, “This change is not helping”, “They’re yet to sign the budget”, “I’m waiting for the next paycheck”, “let me marry first”, “the baby will bring the blessings” etc.

Spend the next 24 hours reviewing everything around you. Remove yourself from wherever you’re not adding value. Separate yourself from conversations, people and things that are not adding value to you. Most importantly, stop spending time doing NOTHING, you’re simply WASTING life. You work in an office and you do nothing meaningful all day, your life is wasting away! Other people are getting ahead, and in 10 years, you’ll only have yourself to blame.
Yes, you received plenty “Happy new month” and plenty “blessings” on the first day of April, “Month of Breakthrough” and “Month of Abundance”. I’ve always wondered if those messages and greetings actually help at all. But then, they’re usually wishes.
If only wishes were horses….
Carefully plan the next three months, write out the objectives and strategies, make it plain! You’ll be able to tell if you’ve wasted time by the end of each month, after-all, appraisal is our way of knowing if we’ve done anything meaningful. Don’t wait until help comes knocking, it probably won’t come! Go out and help yourself, go out and find help. Stop going around feeling like you’re the only one who has issues to deal with, expecting everyone to pity you. Nobody owes you anything!Appraisal is our way of knowing if we've done anything meaningful. -@MrOluGbenga Click To Tweet
Tighten your belt, get on your feet and get to work, there is glory ahead, but a lazy feet won’t get there! Don’t give up, don’t give in to negativity, don’t accept “No” for an answer. Find someone who needs what you have right now and get ahead until something better shows up.
Finally, Ecclesiastes 9:10-11 NIV says:
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
Proverbs 22:29 NIV:
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.
Make your life count!
God bless you!
