Faith determines outcome

Accessing the realms of new dawn by the force of faith

This Parchment post is from a message by Pastor David Oyedepo (Jnr) at Shiloh 2017. Shiloh is an annual prophetic convocation of the Living Faith Church worldwide. You can find other Shiloh messages here.

It has been clearly unveiled to us in the opening session yesterday that we serve a God of new dawn. (Isaiah 42:9, 43:18-19, Revelation 21:5). We belong to a new dawn family. (2Corinthians 5:17) Therefore it means you and I are ordained for landmark and pacesetting experiences on the face of the earth. (1Corinthians 2:9). But we must recognise that without faith there is no way to give expression to our new dawn heritage.

The Bible makes it clear to us in Luke 1:45: “Blessed is she who believes, for there shall be a perfecting of those things which were told her from the Lord.” And in Mark 9:23: “Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” That means it is the individual that is operating in faith that can keep changing levels from one new dawn to another. However it is also important for us to understand that in the last days faith will be under fire. That is why it is important for you and I to understand what it means for us to put our faith in order in order to enjoy the new dawn experience. There is an attack on faith in the last days. (Luke 18:8) We must therefore fortify our faith in God in order not to suffer a crash.

The ultimate of faith is for the believer to operate in the very class of God. So let's keep on building our faith. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet

Why is faith vital for our new dawn experience?

1. It takes faith to actualise your new dawn heritage in Christ

Clearly there is a new dawn heritage for the justified in Christ. (Romans 8:28-30, Proverbs 4:18) But for that to become our experience, the justified must operate by faith. (Romans 1:17, Hebrews 10:38, Galatians 3:11, Habbakkuk 2:4). So until faith is in place our experience of new dawn will be in question. The force of faith is vital to take delivery of our heritage of new dawn.

2. It is to you according to your faith.

You see, it is not situation that determines outcome. It is faith that determines outcome. The Bible makes it clear to us in Matthew 9:28-29 that it is to you according to your faith not according to your situation. It means your situation is only a process towards the outcome when you are operating in faith. It doesn’t matter the situation for the believer, it is designed to end in a testimony. When faith is in place it is to you according to your faith. (Hebrews 11:33-34)

3. It takes faith to activate the new dawn virtues in the word.

There is no doubt that the word of God is the instrument for the creation of a new dawn. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. (John 1:3. Hebrews 11:3) So the word of God created everything including our desired new dawn. God’s word frames our world but the new dawn virtues in the word are activated by our faith. (Hebrews 4:2-3) The word that turns one person’s situation around may be heard by many but it may not be activated by them. That’s why you find that in the service there are many people connected but only few collected. It is faith that turns your connection to collection. Wherever you may be around the world, your faith will turn your connection to collection.

4. It takes faith to enforce your desired change.

Remember in 1Corinthians 16:9 the Bible makes it clear to us that there are adversaries fighting against our new dawn experience. Apostle Paul said “A great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” It is the weapon of faith that clears your adversaries out of the way. (Ephesians 6:12-16). There are many weapons but “above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” In warfare weapons are in categories and the category of weapon that you possess determines your level of defence. Almost every nation has certain categories of bombs but some nations are called nuclear powers because they have nuclear bombs. And if you look at history you will find that nations with nuclear bombs are not attacked directly because the degree of weaponry gives the enemy caution. When faith is at work in the heart of a believer and you develop your faith you can upgrade it from dane gun faith to nuclear power faith where your faith is giving the wicked caution such that they can’t even come close.

If you want to enforce your change you require faith. There is a fight standing in the way for your change of level. (Deuteronomy 2:24) And we don’t fight in the flesh, we fight in faith. The Bible makes us understand in 1Timothy 6:12 that it takes faith to fight and clear the adversaries.

What is the nature or the characteristic of new dawn faith?

1. It sees the invisible.

It takes its realities from revelation. Moses forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27). The invisible force of the word is what provokes the visible results of the believer. And that result is seen with the eye of faith. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3) When you can see what others can’t see and hear what they can’t hear you will stand where they can’t stand. (Genesis 13:14-15). The force of faith that will provoke your new dawn must see the invisible. It must be based on revelation. (1Corinthians 2:9-14)

Faith is the connection of divinity to humanity. It is what allows God to be connected to you. Faith is like an electric cable. It connects you to the power source.

When you see a man of faith operating, he’s operating according to things that others cannot see. The Bible says that Moses endured as seeing Him that is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27) ‘Endured’ means to stand fast. It is those who see the invisible that will command the impossible.

2. It thinks the unthinkable.

Look at Abraham. He believed God at the age of 99, still waiting for a child. When faith comes alive you start thinking differently. His body was dead, Sarah’s body was dead. Yet he still believed that inside him there was a son. (Romans 4:17) I don’t know what doctors have told anybody here but if you can think it you can receive it. (Proverbs 23:7, Ephesians 3:20). Asking and thinking go together. If you ask it but can’t think it you won’t receive it. You must be able to think it. You must be able to imagine and envisage your desired outcome. What will your life look like after you have emerged from Shiloh? Start thinking it. How will people see you when you’re coming from this mountain? Start thinking it. (Isaiah 54:1-3) What you cannot mentally accommodate you cannot properly receive. If your mind cannot accept it your hands cannot receive it. What you think is what you live. Capture from God’s word what God is saying about you and let it saturate your mind. (Romans 12:2)

3. It speaks the unspeakable

It speaks things that are hard for people to comprehend. God will always give testimony to what you boldly declare (Psalm 81:10, Acts 14:3.) Declare things based on what God has said. Make decrees. “You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto you: and the light shall shine upon your ways.” (Job 22:28). It is what you say that God can confirm.

You don’t wish great faith you build great faith. You don’t wish developed muscles, you build developed muscles. Take responsibility for building your faith.

How does faith accomplish all these things?

Faith is the connection of divinity to humanity. It is what allows God to be connected to you. Faith is like an electric cable. It connects you to the power source. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (1Corinthians 2:5). The power is with God but the faith must be with you. In the natural, cables have different capacities. We have domestic cables that birds can hang on and high tension cables that even birds are smart enough not to play around. Develop your faith.

How do you activate your faith for new dawn experiences?

1. Diligently receive the word. (Romans 10:17). If you’re not tired of loading with the word your faith will continue to grow.

2. Genuinely believe the word. (Luke 1:45. Hebrews 4:2). Load your faith until you believe it.

3. Commitedly declare the word. (Mathew 8:8)

4. Dedicatedly obey the word. Faith without works is dead. (James 2:18-26)

Signs and wonders are the confirmation of the word that you receive and believe. -@DavidOyedepoMin Click To Tweet

If we’re going to experience the new dawn God has in store for us we must commit ourselves to this process of activating our faith. Your faith will deliver supernaturally in Jesus’ name.
